Today was the kids last day of school.
To Billy this was great news. His response was “This means I can play for 8 weeks and I don’t have to go to school! And I get to go to camp!”
Natalie on the other hand took it a little differently. She was so exsited to go to school that she got up at 5:27am (She told us later!) Got dressed and couldn’t wait to see her teacher and friends. When she came home, she informed me that she had just written in her journal that the day didn’t turn out to be as exciting as she thought it would. When I asked why she began to cry and told me that she is going to miss her teacher.
Tomorrow Karolyn and I took the day off to bring them out to celebrate their first day of summer vacation. Nothing like some good go carts and mini golf to bring out the smiles.
This was the Team Cup at the Sterling Gym. By far one of Billy’s best days. His team finished 3rd in the Team Cup and Billy finished with an 88.7 for his All Around Score. That is 2.5 point higher than any other meet he’s competed in this year.
This was Billy’s 4th Meet. The 2009 Boston Classic at NESA. We got up early and went out to Boston for the meet. In hind site we should have gotten a place to stay over and let Billy sleep in.
Below is the video from Billy’s 3rd meet. This time it was out in S. Hadley, MA for the Tim Daggett National Invitational (TDNI). He competed in Level 4 Boys age 6-7 category. Out of 28 gymnasts he finished 1st on Pommel and 5th in the All Around. He also did his roundoff back handspring on floor for the first time this meet.
Should be neat to see his scores when he is able stick his p-bars dismount and stops doing his rings routine on the high bar. On the high bar, Billy is supposed to do a pullup and then go back up and pull himself over the bar. Unfortunately, for all three of his meets this year he has forgotten to do the pull over. He always ends up doing a third pull up. Watch his coache’s face (Chris) when he looks at us after Billy drops from his second pullup. This is mostly amusing seeing Chris worked with him on his warm ups and Billy got all 3 practice attempts correct!
All in all, a great day for Billy and his team mates. They placed 5th in the Team cup. Great job guys!
